Autour de la flûte:
La Petite Harmonie

La Petite Harmonie was was the sound of an orchestra but with only five

players. As the orchestra budget in the 19th century was reduced the wind

quintet was created, a combination that is very well known today. Transport

yourself to Paris in 1820 while listening to the fashionable and rich sound

of five historical wind instruments, often played by the five master

teachers of the Conservatoire de Paris, with their perfect blend of

articulation and dynamic range in works by well-known quintet composers

such as Rossini, Reicha and Cambini.
