Flûte Alors!:
Of Wood and Tin

The sonority of the recorder consort is often compared to that of a small organ, though they are rarely played side-by-side. To allow a true comparison of these related instruments, Flûte Alors! invites Jean-Willy Kunz, organist in residence of the MSO, to combine the sounds, colours and repertoires of these two instruments that are so different, yet so similar. Both grandiose and intimate, the collaboration and competition of this concert will take you from the 15th to the 18th century with the sounds of a positive organ, a grand pipe organ, and over a dozen recorders.
