Award winning ensemble Infusion Baroque and acclaimed lutenist Sylvain Bergeron present “An Italian Voyage” featuring Italian chamber music of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. This program presents a survey of Italianate instrumental music, ranging from early seventeenth-century works by Merulo and Castello to high baroque sonatas by Sammartini, Locatelli and Telemann. The program features the varied timbres of baroque winds, strings and multiple continuo instruments in different formations including trio sonatas, solo sonatas, and solo lute/keyboard compositions.
